That’s a small part of the reasoning. Here’s the short version:
Biologically, men cause pregnancy.
Our country’s birth control efforts focus almost entirely on women.
The blame and consequences of unwanted pregnancies fall almost entirely to women.
Women’s birth control options are difficult and unhealthy.
Men’s birth control options are easy and without side effects.
Women have fertile eggs 2 days per month.
Men have fertile sperm every day.
Isn’t it strange that the burden of birth control almost entirely falls to women, when men’s birth control options are so much easier and safer?
Isn’t it strange that women are shamed for unwanted pregnancies, but men aren’t? As if she impregnated herself?
Isn’t it strange that we focus the abortion conversation on women and their actions, instead of trying to prevent unwanted pregnancies in the first place?
Isn’t it strange that our politicians (fact: they are mostly men) pretend they are serious about reducing abortions, but never focus on the men who impregnate the women?
