“No form of birth control is perfect, and I get that, but highly effective forms of birth control exist for both men and women. A man is just as responsible for an unwanted pregnancy as a woman is.” YES. So true. Totally agree. Having both parties be responsible makes a ton of sense, and it’s embarrassing that it would need to be pointed out. But sadly, that’s not how things function currently.

Instead, the burden of birth control, the effects of birth control, and the consequences of failed birth control, are almost exclusively on women.

The imbalance has seemingly never bothered many of the men commenting here, or even crossed their mind. Apparently, they only come to the both-parties-should-be-responsible-conclusion when it’s suggested that perhaps men should be held 100% responsible for a change.
