I appreciate your passionate comment, but I’m not sure how best to respond.

I was definitely struck by the personal story you shared: “my ex who refused to wear a condom and caused me to go through an abortion.” My essay is about exactly that. It’s pointing out that men who refuse to wear condoms cause abortion. I realize that seems like a straightforward fact, but based on public discourse about abortion, it’s actually never brought up. So my hope in writing this essay was to shed some light on this.

If my essay gets more men to take on their fair share of birth control responsibility — especially keeping in mind that male birth control options are healthier and easier than female birth control options — that would be a great thing.
