Hahaha. And you wrote it because you’re distressed that women have been blamed for unwanted pregnancy since… forever? Or you wrote it because it freaked you out that someone (me) dared suggest men could be due some, or all, of the blame?

Don’t worry. These questions are rhetorical. I know I’m being a smartass. I find it pretty funny that many men commenting here are like WHAT?! Both parties are responsible!!!! (You were more calm and used less exclamation points.)

Having both parties be responsible makes a ton of sense, and it’s embarrassing that it would need to be pointed out. But obviously, that’s not how it functions in our country right now. Instead, the burden of birth control, the effects of birth control, and the consequences of failed birth control, are almost exclusively on women. The imbalance has seemingly never bothered these particular men, or even crossed their mind.
